The Scientific and Technical Journal GEOENGINEERING accepts original research and review articles within the scope of the journal.
The manuscript must be original, previously unpublished, and not simultaneously under consideration by another journal. The Editorial Team reserves the right to recommend additional language editing if the manuscript does not meet the linguistic standards of scholarly publication.
1. General Requirements
Articles may be submitted in English or Ukrainian.
The manuscript length should be 3,000–8,000 words.
Articles should follow the IMRaD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion).
The manuscript must be submitted as a Microsoft Word file (.doc or .docx).
The number of authors should not exceed six.
The article title should be clear and informative and should not exceed 15 words.
2. Author Information
The following information must be provided for each author:
- full name;
- full institutional affiliation;
- country;
- e-mail address;
- ORCID iD.
A Corresponding Author must be identified.
The order of authors in the manuscript must correspond to the order of authors entered in the OJS submission metadata.
3. Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should contain 200–250 words. It should be informative, should not repeat the article title, and should concisely present the main content of the study.
The abstract should contain the following structured elements:
Aim - clearly state the aim and main objective of the study.
Methods - describe the approach, methods, materials, models, or data used to achieve the research aim.
Results - present the principal findings of the study.
Scientific novelty - identify the new scientific results, relationships, approaches, or propositions obtained by the authors.
Practical significance - describe the potential practical application of the results and their relevance to further research.
The abstract should be followed by 5–7 keywords that reflect the content of the article, are relevant for electronic searching, and represent the main aspects of the study.
4. Main Body of the Article
The main body of the article should follow the IMRaD structure.
Introduction. Clearly define the research problem and analyse the current state of research using at least 15–20 relevant scientific publications. Identify unresolved aspects of the problem and formulate the aim and objectives of the study.
Methods. Provide sufficient information on the research design and sequence, materials, source data, methods, models, equipment, or other research tools to enable assessment of the validity of the results.
Results and Discussion. Present, analyse, and scientifically interpret the results obtained. The findings should be discussed in relation to relevant previous research. Where appropriate, this section may be divided into separate Results and Discussion sections.
Conclusions. Summarise the main findings in relation to the stated research aim, indicate their scientific and/or practical significance, and, where appropriate, outline directions for further research.
5. Author Contributions (CRediT)
For articles with two or more authors, the contribution of each author must be specified according to the CRediT Contributor Roles Taxonomy.
The following roles may be used: Conceptualization, Methodology, Software, Validation, Formal Analysis, Investigation, Resources, Data Curation, Writing - Original Draft, Writing - Review & Editing, Visualization, Supervision, Project Administration, and Funding Acquisition.
Only roles corresponding to each author's actual contribution to the research and preparation of the manuscript should be indicated.
6. Acknowledgements and Funding
Authors should acknowledge grants, funding bodies, projects, organisations, laboratories, or individuals that contributed to the research or preparation of the publication.
Where funding was received, the name of the funding organisation and the grant or project name and/or number should be provided, where applicable.
If the research received no external funding, this should be clearly stated.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the research or publication of its results.
If no conflicts of interest exist, the following statement should be provided:
“The authors declare no conflict of interest.”
8. Data Availability Statement
Authors must provide a Data Availability Statement concerning the data used or generated during the study.
Where data are available in an open repository, the repository name and a persistent identifier or link should be provided.
If the data are included in the article or are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request, this should be stated accordingly.
9. References
In-text citations and the reference list must follow the APA Style, 7th edition (APA 7).
In-text citations should use the author-date system, for example: (Hollander et al., 2021).
When several sources are cited together, they should be separated by semicolons.
References should be listed alphabetically and without numbering.
Where a DOI is available, it should be provided as an active link in the format https://doi.org/....
Author self-citations should not exceed 17% of the total number of references.
Use of sources associated with the aggressor state. Authors are advised to refrain from using and citing scholarly sources published in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus and to comply with the applicable Ukrainian regulatory requirements concerning the use of scholarly sources associated with the aggressor state and the state supporting the aggression against Ukraine.

10. General Formatting Requirements
Page size - A4, portrait orientation.
Margins - 25 mm on all sides.
Main font - Times New Roman, 12 pt.
Line spacing - 1.0.
Main text - justified.
First-line indent - 0.5 cm.
Spacing before and after paragraphs - 0 pt.
Left and right text indentation - 0 mm.
Automatic hyphenation should not be used.
Pages should not be numbered.
The article title should be written in UPPERCASE and centred.
Italic or bold formatting may be used to emphasise individual text elements where appropriate.
11. Equations
Equations should be created using an equation editor and must remain editable.
Equations referred to in the text should be numbered consecutively. Equation numbers should be placed in parentheses and aligned to the right.
Symbols and notation used in equations, figures, and the main text must be consistent throughout the manuscript.
Where an equation is followed by an explanation of symbols, the equation forms part of the sentence and should be followed by a comma; the explanation should continue with “where” in lowercase.
12. Figures
Figures should be placed directly in the manuscript after their first mention in the text.
Figures should be centred, should not use text wrapping, and should remain within the page margins.
Images must be of sufficient quality for electronic and print reproduction. The recommended resolution for raster images is 300–600 dpi.
Materials reproduced or adapted from other sources must be appropriately cited and comply with copyright requirements.
Figures should be numbered consecutively.
Captions should follow the format:

13. Tables
Tables should be placed in the manuscript after their first mention in the text and numbered consecutively.
Tables should normally use portrait orientation. Landscape orientation may be used for large tables.
Tables must fit within the printable area of the page. A font size of 8–10 pt may be used for large tables.
Tables should not contain decorative shading unless it has an informational purpose.
Titles should follow the format:

14. Units and Abbreviations
Symbols for physical quantities and units of measurement must be used consistently throughout the manuscript.
A non-breaking space should be placed between a numerical value and the abbreviated unit of measurement.
Abbreviations for units of measurement and commonly accepted abbreviations such as million and billion should be written without a full stop where applicable.
15. Article Template
Authors are encouraged to prepare their manuscript using the official ARTICLE TEMPLATE of GEOENGINEERING.
Before submission, authors should verify that the manuscript complies with these requirements and that all metadata entered into the OJS submission system are complete and accurate.
