The Editorial Board of the journal "Microsystems, Electronics and Acoustics" (MEA) is committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of published scientific records. We recognize the necessity of implementing changes to published materials when significant errors or breaches of research ethics are identified. Our policy is based on COPE guidelines and the Publication Policy of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
1. Amendments and Corrections
Corrections are published when unintentional errors are discovered in an article that do not invalidate the primary conclusions of the study but affect its accuracy or interpretation (e.g., technical calculation errors, incorrect author information, or omitted funding details).
-
Erratum: Published if the error originated from the publisher.
-
Corrigendum: Published if the error originated from the authors. Correction notices are published as separate documents linked to the original article.
2. Article Retractions
Retraction is a measure of last resort used in cases of serious misconduct or errors that render research results unreliable. Grounds for retraction include:
-
Evidence of significant plagiarism.
-
Data falsification or manipulation.
-
Discovery of critical errors that invalidate the scientific conclusions of the work.
-
Duplicate publication (when the article has been previously published in another outlet).
-
Breaches of ethical standards regarding research subjects or authorship.
When an article is retracted, the original PDF remains available on the journal's website with a "RETRACTED" watermark, accompanied by an editorial statement explaining the reasons for the retraction.
3. Procedures and Contact Information
The Editorial Office investigates every instance of suspected ethical violation or critical error. Authors, readers, or interested parties are encouraged to report such cases to the Chief Editor.
